Simple Solutions for Social Media Marketing on a Small Budget

Hey Friend,

Social media marketingDo you think you need thousands to get into social media marketing? Think again or better, read on…
You don’t need to spend a fortune to promote your business through internet marketing. When you first start off as an entrepreneur, it can be difficult to decide how best to spend your available funds. One area that offers the most confusion is marketing.

I’ll walk you through some of the best solutions for social media marketing on a budget.

Create Social Media Business Profiles

The first place to start is with social media marketing. You don’t need to spend a dime to begin promoting yourself or your products on social media. Start by choosing two or three social networking sites to focus on.

One of these sites should be Facebook, as they have the most users. Along with Facebook, you could choose Twitter, Google Plus, Instagram, or LinkedIn. Consider the average demographic of these sites and which platform your target audience is most likely to use.

Join Relevant Social Media Groups

Create a business profile for these sites. At first, you should minimize the promotion of yourSocial media groups own products or services. Focus on building relationships with others in your industry. Join relevant groups on each platform. Begin joining conversations and get your name out there.

Facebook Groups are available for almost any industry. If you can’t find a relevant group, then create your own.

Create a Schedule for New Posts

After you grow your follower base, you can start sending out posts and tweets promoting your products or services. Create a schedule for these posts. You should try to post on a daily basis. Though, the majority of your posts should not be related to self-promotion.

Try to strike a balance between self-promotion, helpful posts, and curating posts. Over half of your posts should offer your followers beneficial information. This could be content that you find elsewhere on the web that you believe your followers will enjoy.

Create a Facebook Ad Campaign

facebook_icon11Once you have a Facebook business profile, you should consider starting a Facebook advertisement campaign. This is one of the most affordable options for creating an ad campaign. You get to target a large segment of the population.

Over 70 percent of internet users have a Facebook account. This number is continuing to grow. Unless you’re targeting teenagers or the elderly, there’s a good chance your target audience has a Facebook account.

When using a Facebook ad campaign, you can pay for impressions instead of clicks. For a few dollars per day, thousands of people can see the post that you promoted.

Offer a Freebie Item to New Followers

In addition to the tips already provided, you could give your new followers a freebie item. You don’t need to spend any money on this item. Creating a short guide that your followers can download is one example of a free item that costs no upfront money to create.

Choose a topic related to your products or services and create a short guide. Convert your document into a PDF and then create a spot on your website to provide users with the download link. Once a visitor clicks on the link to follow you on Facebook, they’ll receive the download link.

Social media marketing doesn’t have to break your bank. When you’re first starting out, it can be hard to gain recognition. If you’re struggling to sell your products or services, use these tips to boost sales and grow your brand without spending a large sum of money.

Along with these simple tips, I’d like to offer you the chance to gain conversion-ready internet marketing prospects. Click here to learn about my done-for-you system.

Improving Your Email Marketing Strategy with AB Split Testing

Hey Friend,

In a post couple weeks ago, we talked about split testing your landing pages. Let’s see how you canEmail do the same with your email campaigns.

With A/B split testing, you can test two different versions of the same email and determine which version receives the highest conversion rates. Compare different calls to action, headers, subject lines, and other variables. If you’re new to A/B split testing, then look over the following tips.

Decide What You Want to Test

The first step is to determine what you want to test. A/B split testing is only effective if you change one variable between your two versions of your content. So, you can only change one thing at a time until you get your results. Here are a few examples of commonly tested variables:

  • Calls to action
  • Subject line
  • Your offer or promotion
  • The layout of your content
  • The text that you use
  • Images

You’ll simply change one of these variables. Create the email that you would like to send. Then create a second copy of the email. Divide them into two separate campaigns. Make a single change to one version of your email.

Decide Who You Want to Test

You should test as large of a sample as possible. Though, if you’re testing an extreme idea, you Email Marketingmay want to stick to a smaller portion of your subscriber list.

Sending your emails out to a large group will provide more accurate results. But, if you’re testing an extreme idea, you don’t want to risk losing a large portion of your subscribers – in the event they don’t respond well to your idea.

Analyze Your Results

After you’ve sent out your emails, you can analyze the results. Compare the results of the two emails. You’ll want to pay attention to several different metrics, including:

  • The open rate of your emails
  • The click-through rate
  • The conversion rate

The open rate refers to the percentage of subscribers that opened your email. The click-through rate is the percentage that clicked on your call to action. The conversion rate is the percentage of subscribers that followed through with your intended action after reaching your site.

Examine these metrics and determine which version of your email received the best results. You can use this to test different ideas and to improve your ability to write effective emails.

The most commonly tested variables include the subject line and the call to action. But, you can test any part of your email that you’d like.

Final Thoughts on A/B Split Testing

Split TestingAfter completing your test and analyzing your results, implement the change that worked best in your next email marketing campaign. Continue using A/B split testing whenever you send out a group of emails.

You can think of A/B split testing as a teaching opportunity. You’ll learn what works best and improve your email marketing skills.

The majority of email marketing software will have built-in tools for performing A/B split testing. For those that don’t have access to A/B split testing tools, you can perform the test manually. Simply split the list that you’re testing into two groups. Send one version of the email to one group and the other version to your second group.

A/B split testing is relatively simple to implement. Get started the next time you send a group of emails out to your subscribers. Just remember – you should only test one variable at a time. Otherwise, you’ll not get accurate results.

Along with A/B split testing, there are plenty of other ways to maximize your online marketing efforts. Click here to discover an effective lead generation system and online marketing techniques with my done-for-you system.

Exploring The Most Cost Effective Online Marketing Channels

Hey Friend,

In overwhelming information online about what marketing channel you should use, you could be in doubt what to do and end up doing nothing. There are so many ways you could market your business, but you need to pick only a few, especially when you are just starting.

What are the best online marketing channels? There isn’t a straightforward answer to this question. Every business is different. But, there are certain channels that tend to be more cost-effective and provide higher conversion rates.

If you are looking for a way to stretch your online marketing budget, then explore the most cost effective online marketing channels.

Here’s a quick overview of the online marketing channels that’ll be covered:

  • Email marketing
  • Pay-per-click advertising
  • Social media advertising
  • Blogging

Email Marketing

Eemail MarketingFor some reason, many entrepreneurs believe that email marketing is outdated or ineffective. This is simply not true. Email marketing remains the most cost-effective way to increase conversion rates and boost sales.

Compared to all other online marketing channels, email marketing offers the lowest cost per lead. While social media platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter, have millions of users, everyone has an email address.

As long as you’re smart about your email marketing strategy, you will get positive results.

Make sure that your emails encourage your subscribers to take action. This could include visiting your website or purchasing a product or service. You should also create a sense of urgency in your emails.

Also, don’t ever purchase an email list. You should always build your own list using opt-in forms and other methods.

PPC Advertising

Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising is another marketing channel that is thought of as being past its prime. Again, this isn’t true. PPC is affordable and effective. You just need to optimize your PPC campaign.

Before you put together your PPC campaign, you need to perform thorough keyword research.Pay Per Click The key to an effective PPC campaign is choosing the right keywords. Use the Google AdWords Keyword Planner to research keywords and find phrases with low competition and medium search volume.

Along with keyword research, you need to have a title and description that grabs attention. You have limited space available. Your title and description used in your PPC advertisement shouldn’t be vague. It should be clear and direct.

By having a clear message in your PPC ad, you’ll naturally notice higher conversion rates. Focus on a specific demographic and speak directly to the customer.

Social Media Advertising

While email marketing and PPC advertising have been around since the beginning of online marketing, social media marketing is relatively new by comparison. There are two methods of using social media as a part of your online marketing strategy – regular activity and advertising.

Social MediaFirst, you should be active on social media. Create a schedule for sending out new posts or tweets. This helps you build your subscriber or follower base.

Along with regular activity, you should include social media advertising in your marketing strategy. This could include Facebook Ads, promoted Tweets on Twitter, and advertisements on LinkedIn.

As with PPC advertising, you’ll need to optimize these advertisements to increase conversion rates. Again, use Google AdWords Keyword Planner Tool to find the most effective keywords. Focus on a niche category.

Blogging

Here’s one more online marketing channel to include in your overall strategy – blogging. Blogging is extremely cost effective. You likely already have a website. You just need to start adding regular blog posts.

Blog posts can be shared on social media, linked to from advertisements, and are incredibly beneficial from an SEO standpoint. Blog about topics relevant to your products or services.

BloggingYou should also create a schedule for your blog posts. With a regular schedule, visitors will know when to come back for more posts. This increases repeat traffic and allows you to develop a loyal group of followers while also establishing yourself as a voice of authority in your niche market.

As you start developing and refining your online marketing strategy, consider using the marketing channels described above. Along with these tips, don’t forget to check out my simple lead generation system. Click here to learn more about my done-for-you system.

Using A/B Split Testing to Increase Conversion Rates on Landing Pages

Hi Friend,

Word or two about split testing this week. This is an absolute must if you are taking your online business seriously.

Split TestingIf you’ve ever used an email marketing campaign to promote your business, then you’ve probably used A/B split testing. It’s a common method for testing the effectiveness of different calls to action, headlines, subject lines, and other variables.

You can use these same methods to test your landing pages. If you feel that your landing pages are not converting, then use A/B split testing to determine the what needs fixing. Get started with these easy to follow steps for A/B split testing to boost the conversion rates of your landing pages.

Decide What Variable You Want to Test

The very first step is deciding which variable you want to test. Only test one variable at a time, such as a call to action or your primary header. If you make more than one change, it’s hard to analyze the results of your split testing. Only choose one variable to change and only run one test a time.

After choosing a variable, create two separate versions of your landing page. Make a note of the date that you made the changes so that you’ll be able to analyze the results at a later date.

Link to the Two Versions of Your Landing Page

Whichever marketing channels you’re using to direct traffic to your landing page, create two Split Testingseparate versions linking to both versions of your landing page. For example, if you’re using PPC advertising, create two separate ads. The ads should be identical other than the URL of the landing page.

If you’re using email marketing, then send out two separate emails, linking to the two different versions of your landing page. As with the PPC ads, the emails should be identical other than the link in your call to action.

Analyze the Results of Your Test

The amount of time that you should wait before analyzing the results of your test will depend on how much traffic your website receives. If you receive hundreds of visitors per day, then you can analyze your results after several days. Though, if you get less traffic, you may have to wait for one week or longer.

ResultsIn order to analyze the results, you’ll need some form of analytics software, such as Google Analytics. Look at the statistics for your two landing pages. Don’t pay attention to the total visits. You should only look at percentages.

Focus on the conversion rates for the two pages and the bounce rate. Determine which version of the landing page had a higher conversion rate. Consider the differences between your two pages. Whichever page performed better, implement the changes to the other page. You can now perform your next test.

Continue Performing Tests to Tweak Your Landing Pages

After you complete your first test, you can continue performing A/B split testing to tweak your landing pages. You can perform as many tests you’d like, learning from the experience and discovering what works best.

Once you have perfected your header and call to action, you could consider testing the structure of your text or the content on your page. You can also test the images that you use, the color scheme of the landing pages, and any other variables that can impact the performance of your landing pages.

A/B split testing isn’t complicated. You just need to remember to focus on one variable at a time. Wait for the results and make changes based on the outcome. Use what you learn to increase your conversion rates and make your landing pages more effective.

You can begin using these methods now or if you’d prefer additional internet marketing solutions, then click on the following link to learn more about my done-for-you system.

5 Simple Tips You Can Use to Write Attention Grabbing Headlines

Hi Friend,

HeadlineDo you occasionally see a headline that just draws you like a magnet to open it? It just stands out of everything else on the page and you end up clicking it, regardless of the fact that you were in a hurry and did not plan on spending time on reading blog posts.

An attention grabbing headline can be useful for improving your email marketing, increasing conversion on your website, and for any other form of content marketing that includes its own header or title. This is the first indication that a reader has as to what to expect from your content.

You don’t need to be a professional writer in order to create great copy for websites, landing pages, blog posts, and emails. But, you should start with a killer headline. Here are some extremely easy to follow tips for writing effective headlines.

Write a Summary of Your Content

The first step is to summarize the main point of your content in a single sentence. Don’t worry about how it sounds. Keep it simple. Just write a sentence. You’ll edit it to improve the flair of the headline.

For example, this article is about writing headlines. So, the main point is “how to write headlines that will grab people’s attention”. But, this is not quite effective. It still needs some polish.

Use Numbers in Your Headlines

People like numbers. This applies to almost any headline. Whether you’re writing headlines for Numbered Headlineemails, blog posts, or any other marketing campaign – numbers are effective.

If you are listing steps, providing tips, or offering any other content that could be put into a list, then consider giving your headline a number. Take your original sentence and see if you can add a number to your headline.

Include Exciting Adjectives

Next, try to include an exciting adjective in your headline. These words help inspire action and grab attention. Here are a few examples for your consideration:

  • Essential
  • Excellent
  • Effective
  • Fantastic
  • Important
  • Mind blowing
  • Valuable
  • Ultimate
  • Simple

Keep Your Headline Short

You should also keep your headline short. If you’re writing a headline for a blog post or web page, your headline will also work as your title. Google recommends a maximum of 70 characters. Along with the character count, you should pay attention to the number of words.

In most studies, headlines with between 10 and 12 words tend to perform best. You could go as low as 8 and as high as 14. But, these may not be as effective.

Try to Include Your Focus Keyword

Even if you don’t pay close attention to keyword density, you should try to include a focus keyword. Use Google AdWords Keyword Planner Tool to find a relevant keyword that has decent search volume with low competition. Work into your headline if possible.

KeywordOnce you’ve completed your headline, using these tips, read it out loud. Does it grab your attention? It should convey the subject of your content and encourage people to want to read the rest of your content.

These suggestions can be used for writing any type of headline. Improve the conversion rates of your landing pages, boost traffic to your blog posts, and increase click-through rates on your emails.

In addition to these suggestions, you may want to try writing 5 or 6 different headlines. Create a list of headlines and then consider which one sounds best.

You could even use A/B split testing to test the effectiveness of two different headlines. Create two separate versions of your content, with two different headlines. See which one works best.

You can start using these tips today. Go through the headers and titles of some of your older blog posts or landing pages. See if you can put a new spin on previous headlines.

Along with effective headlines, you could also benefit from additional online marketing tips, such as using a lead generation system. Click here to learn more about my done-for-you system.

How to Perform Market Research to Improve Conversion Rates

Hey Friend,

A word or two about marketing research this week and how to apply it towards better conversion rates.

Market ResearchWithout market research, how do you know if you’re effectively reaching your target audience? Market research gives you a clear indication of what your customers are looking for. It helps you address the needs of your market base.

With proper market research, you can tweak your marketing campaign to more effectively entice potential customers. If you want to improve conversion rates, then market research is the best place to start. Here are some suggestions for including market research in your marketing efforts.

Performing Primary Market Research

You’ll begin your market research by looking at the practices that you already have in place. There are multiple ways to gather the information that you’ll need. You can perform telephone interviews or send out a survey or questionnaire to your email subscriber list.

You should ask your customers or subscribers questions related to your products or services. This could include asking about their likes and dislikes or any ideas that they have for improving your products or services.

Primary market research is intended to give you a better indication of the wants and needs of your customers. You can use this when developing or updating your products or services.

Performing Secondary Market Research

Secondary market research refers to information that you gather from other sources. This Market Researchcould include reports from various organisations. Look for consumer reports related to your industry. Find out who your biggest competition is and the total sales in your industry the previous year.

With secondary market research, you can determine what percentage of the market you’ve reached. This gives you a better idea of how much room there is for growth in your industry.

Putting Your Research Together

After you have finished your primary and secondary market research, it’s time to put it all together. Use a single text document or spreadsheet to record your notes and compile all the information that you’ve gathered.

When evaluating your market research, you are looking for trends. This includes common responses from your surveys and questionnaires and common practices being employed by your competition. Using these two areas, you can begin implementing changes in your marketing practices.

Target the Needs and Interests of Your Customers

Use the suggestions provided by your customers to develop more effective calls to action and headers. Come up with ways to use your products or services to address their primary needs and interests. You’ll find it easier to create content, products, and services that appeal to your market base.

Follow the Lead of Your Competitors

CompetitionYou can also look at your competition and ensure that you are using the most effective marketing channels. You should follow their lead, but avoid copying the actions of your competitors.

For example, if they’re relying on email marketing as their main approach for increasing their sales then make sure that you’re using email marketing. Tailor your marketing campaigns to include the marketing channels used by your competition.

Perform Market Research Regularly

Market research isn’t a task that you perform once. Depending on the size of your market, you may want to perform this research every quarter – or at least every year. This ensures your research is fresh and keeps you on the right track.

Market research allows you to explore all of your options. You can learn more about your target audience. This will help you to create better content and more effective advertisements. Using a Rewards Program with Your Marketing Strategy

Hey Friend,

In this week’s blog, we will find out how to use rewards program to create a loyal customer base.

LoyaltyUsing a rewards program or loyalty program is a great way to attract customers as a part of your internet marketing strategy. They’ve been found to help build customer loyalty and increase sales. These programs show your customers that you care about them and that you value their business.

Unfortunately, if you don’t use your rewards program correctly, they can quickly become a marketing nightmare. The following tips will help you to use your rewards program to attract customers, gain brand recognition, and increase conversions.

Create an Opt-in Program

There’re many different ways to start a rewards program. You can use loyalty punch cards, membership cards, and other physical methods of tracking customer behavior. Though, these solutions won’t work with an online business. For this, you’ll need to create an opt-in program.

This works the same as any other opt-in program or mailing list. Create a sign-up form, a landing page, and then advertise the page through your social media platforms or with PPC advertising. This helps to ensure that the people that sign up really are interested in benefiting from the rewards program.

Integrate the Rewards Program with Your Payment Platform

RewardsDepending on the payment platform that you use, you should find it relatively easy to integrate your rewards program. This will simplify the process of offering discounts or sales to your members. Not only will this be easier for the deployment of your rewards program, your customers will find it easier to use.

Choose Your Rewards Carefully

You should take the time to choose the right rewards or incentives for your customers. You don’t want to offer them too much of a discount or special offer. Though, it needs to have enough of a value to entice them into signing up for the rewards program.

One idea is to offer a small discount for all purchases. For example, offer members 5% off any purchase. On top of this, you could throw in some free goodies. This could include eBooks, PDFs, video content, and other exclusive content that is created solely for your members.

Create an Email Marketing Campaign

You should include an email marketing campaign with your rewards program. Members thatEmail join the program should receive periodic emails with special offers or discounts. Even if these are the same deals being presented to non-members, you should create a separate email for rewards members.

This will increase engagement. As you begin to build trust and loyalty, you should find that you have higher conversion rates with emails sent to members than you do with emails sent to non-members.

A Few Words of Warning

If you choose to create a loyalty program, never sell the information that you gain to a third party. The goal of creating a loyalty program is gain the trust of your customers. By selling their information, you violate this pact — defeating the purpose of the rewards program.

Customer service should be a major part of any important business decision. Creating a rewards program isn’t something that you should rush into. Take your time to plan out your marketing campaign and how you intend to implement your rewards program.

A rewards program can be a powerful marketing tool, when it is used correctly. For decades, they’ve been a major part of many businesses’ key marketing strategies. When you provide your customers with something of real value, it shows them that you value their business and want to give back a little.

These programs can go a long way towards helping you establish a solid customer base. Consider setting up your own rewards program using the information provided. For additional tips and suggestions, check out my lead generation system — done-for-you system.

Marketing Your Own Personality to Drive Branding for Your Online Business

Hi Friend,

This week, we are talking about imprinting your brand into your marketing. There are several things you can do to achieve that. Let’s see some of them.

When you run an affiliate marketing business, long-term relationships are far more profitable than short-term revenues. In only a very limited number of cases is there high value to jumping into a hot market, making a big splash, then getting out as fast as you can.

BrandingIn most cases, building long-term relationships with your customers in the end is the most rewarding strategy, both financially and in terms of your company’s reputation and brand.

If you consider your customers to be your friends, rather than simply your customers, you can improve the effectiveness of any marketing program.

Any time you contact your customers – whether via email, social media, in forums or anywhere else – you should try to personalize the experience as much as possible. Share details about your personal history and family life.

Give your customers the opportunity to develop a genuine emotional bond with you and offer them a vested interest in your success. This will result in a long, prosperous business relationship with a larger group of customers and it will help build your reputation online. Remember, that and you can continually grow your business for many years to come.

Putting Your Personality on the Squeeze Page

For example, how much is an email opt-in worth to you? In other words, when you get personalitysomebody to act on your squeeze page — they give you their email address in exchange for whatever high value, niche related content you are giving away for free — what does that mean in terms of cash business? A ballpark estimate is that each opt-in is worth about 50 cents to one dollar per month. And I would say that’s pretty conservative.

So if you have 1,000 opt-ins on a particular squeeze page per month, you can expect that to bring you at least $500 to $1,000 per month.

Every email opt-in you get, you put that person into your sales funnel. That means you are going to be sending them offers and affiliate product promotions interspersed with other high value content and personal information.

The Value of Customers

According to the industry average, each person on your list is worth about 75 cents per month to you.

Obviously, you can increase this average by promoting products people really want and by doing a great job nurturing interpersonal relationships with the people on your list.

Once people opt-in to your subscriptions list, ideally, you want to push your subscribers up your value ladder. This means that regardless of your niche, the purpose of the sales funnel is to push your customers so that they buy offers with bigger and bigger price tags.

You can promote these products using the multiple marketing platforms you have created, including your email subscriber list, social media, squeeze pages, article and forum marketing, and even paid marketing like CPC ads and Google Adwords. How prospects find your sales funnel is less important than what they do once they arrive there.

Gateway Offers

GateThe gateway offer is the first product that you are going to ask your prospects to pay for. Your gateway offer promotion comes after any giveaway product from your squeeze page or elsewhere. The important aspect of the gateway offer is that it should have enormous perceived value for your prospects. In other words, you should over-deliver for what they are paying.

With digital products, it’s hard to lose money in distribution because you can re-sell the same product repeatedly without any additional production costs. Still, it should seem to your customers as if what they are getting with their gateway product is worth far, far more than what they are paying. One way to do this is to provide the highest quality products possible.

Offering your customers value and using your own personality and personal history to build relationships is vital to your success. Top Secret List Building Techniques that You Have Never Heard Of

Hello my Friend,

Have you ever wondered what would be the best and fastest ways to build your list? Not just build it, but build it the right way?

In this week’s blog, we’ll go over some techniques you might have never heard of.

The key to beating your competition is always staying one step ahead. Here are three ways to expand the size of your subscription list and attract loyal, ready to buy customers that will give you the competitive advantage you need.

Twitter Time

TwitterBecause of its immediacy, Twitter is the platform on which news is spread the fastest. Whenever something important happens in the world, Twitter erupts with activity. As a result, it also offers one of the best opportunities for going viral.

With Twitter, you only have 140 characters to work with, so you have no choice but to be direct and to the point.

To supercharge Twitter as a marketing tool, you want to build a huge list of people with an interest in your business’ niche. To do this, search for tweets about your niche and go to the profiles of people who have recently tweeted in this niche and look at their list of followers.

If they have a lot of followers, follow those people. In most cases, they will automatically follow you back. When they do, every time you tweet something, they will receive it and there is the possibility they will retweet it so that their followers will see it as well.

Welcome to the World’s Most Powerful Media

YouTube is the world’s most popular video sharing site, so that makes it a great place to build
your list.

I like to create videos on YouTube that are like video squeeze pages … they offer informationYoutube
to viewers that they can actually use. Then at the end of the video, I invite them to give me their email address if they would like to get more helpful how-to videos.

The conversion rate on YouTube squeeze page videos is very high, so it’s absolutely a platform you should pursue to build your list.

How-to videos that are part of a series are more popular than those that stand alone, so if you have a 10 minute video providing high-value information to your prospective customers you would get more visitors if you broke it into three 3:33 minute videos.

A fast, easy way to build your list is to record any seminars or webinars you host. Break your webinar video into several files and create an online video series that YouTube users can subscribe to … or create your own YouTube channel.

Okay, now, these are free ways to build your list. Now I want to talk about a paid method. It’s called solo ads and it offers one of the most cost-effective ways to get high target customers on your email subscription list quickly.

Going Solo

Solo AdsSolo ads are ads you buy from other Internet marketers that they either place in their newsletters or send out a recommendation to their subscription list.

The benefits of solo ads is that you can find solo ad providers who specialize in the niche you are working in, so when they make a recommendation that their followers sign up to join your list you are getting people who have already bought products similar to yours … or have otherwise shown an interest or passion in you niche.

The other benefit is that solo ads are one of the least expensive paid marketing methods. They cost far less than Facebook Ads or Google Adwords or banner ads and so on, yet they give you some of the most targeted traffic you are going to find.

Monitoring the social media marketing landscape is vital to your success. If you’d like to have access

to even more powerful marketing tips, as well as a way to generate conversion-ready Internet marketing prospects each month, click here to learn about my done-for-you system.

That’s it for now and remember to post comments and questions below.

Solving Problems – The Key to Understanding What Motivates Your Customers

Hey Friend,

In this week’s blog, we are talking about how to understand your customers’ motivation and tailor your offer accordingly.

People usually buy products to solve a problem that they are having: They buy food because they are hungry, they buy an education because they want to advance their career, they buy a car because they want to drive around and/or impress their friends.

Presenting a problem is therefore the first part of any marketing email. The problem presented in your email is simply whatever your product will solve.

A Real-World Example

ProblemFor example, let’s assume your affiliate product is an eBook that teaches how to talk to the opposite sex. The problem then would be that the customer is shy, doesn’t know how to meet people, and is afraid that they are going to grow old and die alone as a result.

Frequently, the presenting the problem is done in the form of a series of questions:

  • Do you get tongue-tied when it comes time to meet women?
  • Are you spending your Saturday nights sitting at home watching television because you can’t ask women out on dates?
  • Are you afraid that you will be a lifelong bachelor because of your anxiety around the opposite sex?”

Offering Solutions

Next comes introducing your product as a solution to the problem. This gives your prospective customers hope that they can enrich their lives and remove this obstacle simply by purchasing your product:

“Introducing ‘How to Speak to Sexy Women: A Comprehensive Guide’ ”

After introducing your product, you want to explain the benefits your product has to offer yourSolution customer. These are different than your products features, which are a list of things that it includes.

This is actually a very important distinction: Benefits describe how your product will improve your customer’s life, how it will not only solve their problem but make them a better person. With this hypothetical product, for example, the benefits might include:

  • Win the woman of your dreams and begin a long and happy life with your new family.
  • Impress your friends and relatives with your confidence and self-esteem
  • Become more attractive to all women and increase your sex appeal

Benefits are a better way to promote your affiliate product than simply listing its features. That’s because it give your potential customer the opportunity to imagine themselves as being a better person for having purchased your product.

A good way to remember it is like this: Features SELL but benefits TELL.

If you are offering any special bonuses or guarantees, they can be listed next. Or if you are directing your email recipient to a sales page where the text builds up to the bonuses and guarantees, it may be a better idea to simply wait until they get there so that it have more impact.

The Critical CTA

The most important part is your Call to Action (CTA). You need to be crystal clear on exactly what it is you want your reader to do.

There can be no ambiguity whatsoever. If it is to visit a sales page, then state that clearly. If it is to buy a product, tell your customer to do exactly that. Don’t hint, obfuscate or beat around the bush. There’s no time for that and your customer won’t appreciate it. Be direct.

CTA

The final part, and perhaps the most important, is the affiliate link. If you forget to include this link, you have wasted the time of your customer because they can’t get to where you want them to go.

Make a point of double checking every email you send to make sure it has an outgoing affiliate link to the web page where your customers can buy the product you are promoting. And test that link every time. One little misspelling or a period in the wrong spot can derail your entire sales process.
